Finding hotels in Anaheim does not have to be difficult. With a little bit of planning and preparation, you will certainly be able to find accommodations that will suit your needs.
Anaheim is located in Orange Country, California, less than thirty miles southeast of Los Angeles. Sporting a population of a little over three hundred thousand, it is the tenth largest city in California.
Anaheim was founded by a group of German families in 1857. The names was culled from the name of a nearby prominent river, the Santa Ana, and the word “heim” a German compound name used to denote “home”. The first settlements were organized around some grape vineyards until insect problems destroyed that industry in late in that century. Since then, Anaheim’s primary crops have included oranges, lemons, and walnuts. Today, the city is an industrial center that produces electronics and aircraft parts along with its more traditional fruit products.
Anaheim is well-known for its sports teams and its theme parks. Anaheim sport teams include a hockey team called the Anaheim Ducks (remember the Anaheim Mighty Ducks of Disney lore?), a major league baseball team called the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and a football team, the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, which played for the city for 15 years before moving to a new home in St. Louis. The city also contains the Anaheim Convention Center, a facility always in demand for national conferences.
Anaheim also hosts a major theme park complex in Disneyland Resort. Disneyland Resort includes a Disneyland Park, A Disney’s California Adventure Park, and a Downtown Disney. Disney’s California Park, as the name suggests, is a California-themed Disney attraction that was designed like a living California postcard. The park contains miniature replicas of many prominent California attractions, including the Golden Gate Bridge. Disney’s California Adventure is the “adult” component of Disneyland: the rides here are scarier, the shows are more adult-oriented, there are many more restaurants and alcohol is available. Downtown Disney, on the other hand, is an outdoor dining, shopping, and entertainment area in a more garden-like setting.
Because of its many attractions, Anaheim hotels are often hard to book in advance. However, this is mostly because people do not take the requisite steps to find the accommodations that they will need. Before you go to Anaheim, plan ahead. Find hotels in Anaheim before you drive or fly to the city. Conduct a little research and come to a decision based on your budget. If you plan to stay for more than a couple of days, don’t make the mistake of booking a pricey hotel in Anaheim. It all comes back to your planning – how much do you have, and what can you do with that amount?
As much as possible, find Anaheim hotels that are located near your places of interest. If you are attending a conference at the Convention Center, find Anaheim Convention Center Hotels nearest that location.
